Tune in to Rock 93.3 on Monday, May 5 to hear Dr. Goldfischer as Dr. Love speak about kidney stones.
Believe it or not, summer is the season for kidney stones. The warm weather coupled with the numerous outdoor activities tends to cause the body to lose more water than normal. Kidney stones start as microscopic particles that harden over time. Oftentimes they are caused by dehydration or increased excretion of certain minerals, such as calcium, oxalate, and uric acid, in the urine. Symptoms include extreme pain in the area between your ribs and hips that radiates to the groin area. To hear how kidney stones are diagnosed, treated, and prevented, listen to Rock 93.3 on May 5 starting at 7:30am.
